Pendleton was founded in 1863 by English weaver Thomas Kayon, a man with an intimate knowledge of the wool business. Perhaps of most interest to fans of the Ivy League look, are Pendelton’s loop collar board shirts, a style of relaxed shirt-jacket popularised by West Coast surfers of the 1960’s, and brought to mainstream attention by a little-known music group named The Beach Boys.
