Midnight Navy G9 Harrington Jacket

Midnight Navy G9 Harrington Jacket

The story of the Harrington is inextricably tied to that of John Simons. As is well documented, the jacket famously earned its title from none other than John himself, who in 1965 recognised Baracuta’s G9 model, which was being sold at the Ivy Shop in Richmond, to be the same as that worn by the character of Rodney Harrington, in the 1960s TV show Peyton Place. As was customary at that time, John placed the new line centre stage in his display window, with a hand-written note dubbing it “The Rodney Harrington”, in turn forever changing the menswear lexicon.

The Baracuta G9 remains the first and most classic iteration of the Harrington jacket, first conceived in Manchester in 1937 and set apart by its unique Fraser Tartan lining, ribbed dog ear collar with two button closer, and umbrella back yoke, all of which marks it as immediately distinct from cheaper market stall iterations. The G9 is a versatile garment which pairs wonderfully with everything from artisanal Japanese denim and chukka boots to chinos and loafers.

A HOLLYWOOD FAVOURITE. WORN BY LEGENDS.

The story of The Original Playboy shoes began in 1936 when English shoemaker Hutton in Northampton created a completely new shoe with a unique and patented crepe sole construction. The ‘Play-Boy’, as it was originally called. The construction was based on a thick 100% natural crepe sole attached to the upper, a signature piping sewn all around the shoe and an inch-high crepe foxing to complete the shoe.

An iconic, and timeless, classic that has since been worn by royalties, legendary Hollywood actors, jazz musicians, rockabillies, hip-hoppers and a host of other good people around the world.
