John Simons

Brown Herringbone Ivy Jacket

Brown Herringbone Ivy Jacket

John Simons first purchased a traditional American Sack Jacket in 1958, whilst working at Cecil Gee on Charing Cross Road. He recalls the purchase fondly, citing the transaction as more than a simple fashion statement, rather, it provided a magic route to the Bebop revolution, which was far cheaper than the cost of a plane ticket.

The ‘Made in England’ Ivy Jacket is our interpretation of this mid century menswear icon. Tailored with a natural shoulder, it offers a relaxed, clean silhouette that retains a sharp, unstructured look. The 3-button roll to 2 feature adds a versatile, timeless appeal, giving you the option of a more formal or casually refined appearance depending on your mood.

A single vent at the back provides ease of movement and a touch of elegance, ensuring you never feel constrained. Inside, the buggy lining adds a layer of durability and comfort, making it as practical as it is stylish. Whether you're pairing it with the John Simons trousers, chinos or jeans, this jacket is the epitome of understated Ivy Style. Once you wear it, you might start to wonder how you ever managed without it.

This particular model is constructed from a beautiful wool herringbone fabric produced by historic mill, Abraham Moon and Sons. Founded in 1837, Abraham Moon and Sons is one the few remaining vertical woollen mills left in Great Britain. Channel your inner Dustin Hoffman in our Ivy Herringbone.

In addition, the jacket features:

  • 100% Shetland Wool
  • A three-button front with soft lapel roll to the middle button
  • Three patch pockets
  • Two-button cuff
  • Centre vent
  • Available as a separate or as a suit.
